Weighted Silence

This is a poem that was written by my son Corley. I am so proud of him! He did such a good job, and whenever girls read it, well they go crazy! Personally, I get chills when I read it, but how about you read it yourself. Let me know what you think!

Weighted Silence
Corley Bagley

As I sit in solemn thoughts
I see you standing there
Surrounded by the best of friends
And one who “really cares.”

And as I sit I wonder,
If I would ever dare
To do the things required
Te be that one who cares.

Although I have these feelings,
I haven’t made a move.
I wand you to be happy
With the one you choose.

The best way to be near you
Is to always be right there,
To help you and support you
Not show how much I care.

I fear that if you knew it
And didn’t feel the same,
You’d tell me that I could leave
The same way that I came.

But the happiness that I feel
Whenever you come near,
Makes me forget all other things,
And drowns out all my fears.

And so I just content myself
To simply be your friend.
And though this isn’t all I want,
At least this wouldn’t end.

But when I’m feeling down the most,
And it’s more than I can bear,
I think about this dream I’ve had,
And picture myself there.

In my dream I am alone,
I’m not quite sure just where.
It’s raining pretty hard outside,
I want to be out there.

Because out of a window,
You’re standing in full sight.
You’re calling me to join
You in the growing night.

As I run beside you,
You stop and turn around.
You tell me that you love me;
My gaze turns to the ground.

When I look up and see your face,
I cannot make a sound.
All I can hear is cold, wet rain
Falling all around.

As you gently grab my hand,
I focus on your eyes.
And in them I can see the truth:
A love that was disguised.

Your beauty takes my breath away,
It was worth the wait and pain.
I pull you closer to me.
And kiss you in the rain.

It’s at this point I wake up,
And find it wasn’t real.
That this has never happened,
And probably never will.

It just turns out the one I love,
Through whom my love has grown,
Loves someone else, and I’ll be left
Unnoticed and alone.

I guess for now I’ll have to wait.
But every day it rains,
I can’t help but feel excited,
And pray that it’s the day.

Organize It!!!

I love how these ink pads store inside of each other but I don't like how I could not tell what the colors were. So to solve that problem I simply printed a tag for each one. Easy to read and I love being able to grab the one that I want.

Blurry picture but I like to store these ink pads upside down so I put the labels on so that I could read them while they were stacked upside down.

I know that this seems like such a simple thing but the simple things in life make all the difference.

Jake's Halloween Costume!

I was at Costco, and I passed this rack of extrememly adorable halloween costumes for babies and toddlers. Now, seeing as my grandson, Jake, is a little baby/toddler, I couldn't resist buying him a costume. BUT....there were too many adorable costumes to chose from, and there were size problems....all in all, I bought TWO costumes for him. Too bad he looks adorable in both of them! I need your help to choose WHICH ONE we should keep.

The *FIRST* costume is a lion costume. It was so cute, and it's the right size. The only thing about this one is that it is a half costume, and I still haven't decided if I like the full costume or half costume better. Here is a picture of it.

Now, Here is the *SECOND* choice of costumes. The second one isn't quite the right size, but when I saw it, I just had to get it. You will soon see why! It's a little dragon costume, that has a padded belly and bottom, which is hilarious to see when Jake waddles around. This costume is a full-body costume. Again, I don't know if I like the full costume or half costume better. Here is a picture of the second costume.

Well, there you have it! Help me choose, PLEASE!! I need help, either comment, or vote on the poll I have on the side. Or, if you really want to, you can participate in both options. (Which is actually preferred.) Let me know, we have to make a good choice.

Thanks!

Gina

A Typical (busy) Day in the Life of a Mom

Being a mom keeps you very busy. I am sure that all mom's can relate. I went to work and then took a break to go to my card group for lunch. It is one of the things that I look forward to. In our busy days we need to take time for friends. We are in our 12th year with this card group. We have added a few as people have left but there are still 6 originals. We have a lot of fun and eat in a lot of great places. Wednesday was especially yummy. We ate at the Harley Davidson's Diner "Marley's" with sliders to knock your socks off. We are definately going back there. It is a great time to get together and enjoy our friendship. Then to top it off we get cards to take home. Yeah! Here are some pictures of the cards that day.

I went to work again and then came home to Pinewood Derby and making cards for the next night. I helped Kallin with his Pinewood Derby car and went to watch the races. It was great fun and he was happy to race his handsome car. I came home kind of late and made my cards for my card group the next day. How fun it is to have card groups back to back. I made an easy fall card.

Thursday was a busy day also. I worked all day and then came home and did dinner with the family. I went to card group. This card group does things differently because we go to each others homes and do a "make and take" card then exchange cards with of course dessert after. We have a lot of fun laughing and talking about all important things. I really love this group because my daughter Ginay is in this group and we have fun doing it together. Here are the really cute cards.

I came home from card group and started my boxes of peaches. It was going to be late night. I bottled 28 jars that night and got to bed really late. or early in the morning. But it feels good to bottle the peaches and have them on my shelves! Aren't they a beautiful sight.

It is amazing what a mom does in a day. How many hurts they fix and drinks that they get and if your children are like mine they eat all day long. But, I have to say that it is one of the greatest things - to be a mom! It reminds me of a song, go to the link.

Our Summer Adventure: A Family Vacation!

This summer, as a family, we visited our cabin in Featherville, Idaho. Our cabin has been there since I was a teenager, so, as you can obviously guess, it has a LOT of memories! We had a lot of fun, we went river rafting, fishing, swimming in both the river and the lake, and a whole lot more! Plus, on sunday, CaLea took some model shots of the kids. So check out the pictures to see just how much fun we had on our vacation!!
